As wedding florists, we are constantly surrounded by wonderful stories of love, hope and new beginnings. Very often, there are stories that stand out and make us realize how fortunate we are for being able to share such special moments with pretty amazing people, like Rachel.
A few weeks ago, we heard the story of Rachel Wolf and her father, Dr. James Wolf, who has terminal cancer. Even though Rachel’s father has a few months to live, they got to enjoy a very special milestone almost every father and daughter share: having a father and daughter dance. What is so especial about this story is that Rachel is not even engaged, but she decided to have a wedding without a groom, because at the end of the day, this moment was just about her and her father.
After we heard Rachel’s story, we wanted to participate in such wonderful moment by donating the wedding flowers through our parent company, Vistaflor. But we were not alone, as many donations from other wedding vendors poured in once they heard the story as well. This beautiful moment was a reality, one that Rachel and her father will cherish forever.
Her wedding dress, the lights, the gazebo… Everything was perfect. Rachel had the opportunity to share this especial moment with her dad. She was glowing, he was happy. There was no place for sadness, just joy. A wonderful, comforting feeling irradiated from them as they danced one last time, lighting and warming up everybody’s heart.
